21 Day Learn to Lift Weights Programme | Average Joes Gym
Your body has changed. You know you need to get stronger. But where do you actually start?
Maybe you’ve noticed you’re not as strong as you used to be.
Your body carries weight differently. You’ve lost some muscle. Hills feel harder. Your joints are a little more noticeable.
Or you’ve simply reached the point where you’re thinking:
“I need to do something about this now.”
You know strength training is probably part of what you need.
But you might also be wondering: What do I actually do when I get to the gym — and how do I make sure I actually keep going this time?

“I was looking to do strength training being in midlife/ peri-menopause...AJG gave me everything I needed — I learnt to lift with amazing trainers who teach beginners how to lift, and now I can lift heavy.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- Frida
Does this sound familiar…
🗨️“I’ve lost a lot of strength.”
🗨️“I know I need to start doing weights.”
🗨️“What used to work doesn’t seem to work anymore.”
🗨️“I wouldn’t really know what to do when I got to the gym.”
🗨️“I don’t want to join another gym, get shown everything once and then be left on my own.”
🗨️“I start… then life gets busy and somehow I just end up stopping again.”
You won’t be shown once and then left to work it out yourself.
At Average Joes Gym:
⭐Semi-Private PT is where you learn your weights programme properly.
⭐Small Group Training gives you coached sessions through the week to build strength and fitness at your level.
⭐Your Accountability Coach helps you keep it going when life gets busy.
Semi-Private PT
-
Where you learn to lift weights properly
Once a week you'll train in Semi-Private Personal Training with a maximum of six people, using your own strength programme.
This is where you learn the weights.
Your trainer helps you choose appropriate weights, watches how you move, corrects your technique and changes exercises when something needs working around.
So instead of standing there wondering what to do, how heavy to go or whether you're doing it properly, you have someone there teaching you as you go.
Small Group Training
-
Where you build strength and fitness through the week
Alongside your Semi-Private PT, you'll have access to our coach-led Small Group Training classes throughout the week.
Your coach knows where you're at and exercises can be modified for you.
You don't need to already be fit, and you don't have to be the fittest person in the room to participate.
Choose from functional strength training, cardio, box HIIT, mobility and other coached sessions.

We help you keep it going when life gets busy
Bring your diary to your orientation and we’ll look at what your first week actually looks like, choose sessions that realistically fit and get them booked before you leave.
Then each week we check in:👉 What worked?
👉 What got in the way?
👉 What next week's schedule actually looks like.
We book one realistic week ahead at a time.
If work gets busy, energy dips or life happens, we adjust the plan to fit that week.
So one disrupted week doesn’t become “I’ll start again Monday”… then next month… then six months later.
What should you be able to say after 21 days?
-
✅ “I feel stronger and I'm training consistently"
✅ “I feel more confident training in the gym.”
✅“I know which sessions work for me.”
✅“I know how to keep going even when my week isn't perfect.”

Can I join the 21 Day Program if I'm an ex Gym Member?
Yes!
The programme is open to both new and returning members, including previous Average Joes Gym or Invigorate members, as long as you’re not currently an active member.
What if I’m not fit or haven’t lifted before or have things I need to work around?
That’s fine. You don’t need to be fit or know how to lift before you start.
We start from where you are now and can adjust exercises and weights around your confidence, fitness, mobility or limitations.
What if my weeks are busy or my schedule keeps changing?
That’s exactly why we plan one week at a time. Your Accountability Coach helps you book what realistically fits that week, then we review and adjust the next one.
